My girl-friend just called, her Dad came out of surgery a little while ago and everything went "as planned". He still needs a few x-rays to make sure the kidney has blood flowing through and they will take this in an hour or so when he comes to. No visitors are allowed for a couple hours still, but she sounded like she was in high spirits.
The kidney donor (my friends uncle) is also doing well and they have already been in to see him. Thank you for all of your thought and prayers, please continue to keep them in your thoughts as this will be a very critical and long recovery.

My thoughts and prayers are with your friends. It is so amazing to think that modern medicine can save a life by transplanting an organ - WOW!
YAY!!! Glad everything went well.
That is so awesome about your friends dad. Two of my cousins have had kidney transplants. He still has a long road in front of him.
