Please don't judge me...

What's that????

That's what the treadmill read...this morning...at 5:45 AM. That's right, I woke up an hour early to get a 2 mile run in, but why?

Well, that's a whole other story, you see I picked something special up last night. Do you want to know what it was???

Okay, take a peek...

My dress!!! It's finally here, after 8 months of waiting it came in yesterday and I went to pick it up last night. I was so excited to get it and even more excited to put it on again... only problem was that it didn't fit! Yeah! Believe it, doesn't even come close to closing. The lady at the dress shop took out my old measurements and measured me again, I am 6, SIX inches bigger around the midsection. My chest and hips are the same as they were though. I was in tears, how did I let this happen?
Well, I let it go and brought my dress to my parents house. I gave it a lot of thought and really there is a lot going on with my body right now. Aunt Flow is around the corner (today or tomorrow), I have been stressed out at work so I am turning to quick and easy foods like chips and salsa (my dinner 4 days in a row) which are full of sodium. And most of all, surgery. I can't put it all on that of course, but where I am carrying the weight is right where I was sliced open 5 times, my muscles are still weak there and I still swell up when I eat/drink the wrong things. I don't know if it is normal to get heavy swelling even 7 months after surgery, but it's not unlikely either...right?
Maybe I am just making excuses for myself. I know I haven't been tracking lately and the scale has been up around 128 lately, but I really don't feel like I am that much bigger then I was 7 months ago.
Needless to say I need to kick these couple extra pounds/inches so starting today I am running twice a day once in the morning (short) and once at night (long) followed by crunches and stretching. Hopefully I will fit this in at least 4 days a week and then a long walk on the weekends. I am tracking my foods again. I am thinking I will do flex this week (my weeks start on Wednesday) and then move back to Core next week to ease my way into this. I am going to hit it hard for 5 weeks (that's my goal) and see where I am at. If I am not making the progress I need to be making I will start attending meetings and maybe see about meeting with a personal trainer.

First off, the dress is beautiful!! Oh I can't wait to see pictures of you in it!

Secondly, don't be so hard on yourself. I'm sure that your surgery has a lot to do with the swelling around the mid-section not to mention Flo - she is a beast! Cut out the sodium and anything carbonated - push the water and keep working at it. You will be fine in no time. With your determination and know how you will be "working" that dress in no time! I'm cheering for you!!

(((HUGS)))

P.S. You may want to look at some of the things that you are eating. I have a coworker who had her gallbladder (SP?) out and certain foods cause her to really bloat up. Anything acidic or spicy aka salsa. Stuff that is gassy like cabbage, brocolli - heck she even has a hard time with lettuce. Really that could be the majority of your problem - I've seen her tummy swell and she looks pregnant.

Ahh honey!!! You could have CALLED me last night! I know you don't know my number (I'll gladly give it to ya though) but it sounds like you needed a friend last night. I'm so sorry!!! I've been there, believe it or not! THREE WEEKS before my wedding they were letting out my dress. I had gained some and they had to let it out!!! So at least you found this out now. :) There is a plus side!

I am almost certain that surgery had something to do with this. Gallbladder surgery is not fun and the recovery is even worse--I think. I've heard horror stories about how it leaves people. You have plenty of time to get those 10# off that you've gained AND to lose those inches. You have the tools and you know what to do to fix it.

Watch the food you are actually eating--take Steph's advice and really try to watch your sodium intake as well. You CAN do this! We're right there with ya cheering you on the ENTIRE way! :)

Oh and the dress looks beautiful..even in the bag. I can't wait to see pictures of you actually in it! You are going to be a beautiful bride. Or as DS1 would say--a princess!
