So, what's new you ask?

Well, no one actually asked, but I figured I would fill you in anyway. Life hasn't stopped or slowed down for that matter. A few weeks ago Derek came home with a little surprise for me. Meet Tinkerbell Lexis, our 3 month old Yorkie! Rosie loved her and gave her the name Tinkerbell. Without knowing Rosie would name our dog we named her Lexi and compromised! We are learning a lot and having fun! I never thought I would own a dog!

I am still about 10/15 lbs from my goal weight, but staying very positive. My sister and I joined the YMCA by out home and I have been enjoying working out in some of the structured classes there 3-4 days a week. The weather is finally nice enough to start walking outside. I am enjoying being able to get out and walk around the lake. I haven't decided if I will do the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk this year or not. Two of the three girls I usually go with are getting married this summer so everyone is busy. Maybe we will take a year off...I definitely want to do it again though.
Eating is going well, I am tracking and counting points. I dropped my WW online membership to save some money, but found it pretty easy to get the same info other places. Hopefully I start to see a difference on the scale in the next month!
In other non-related news, my sister left her husband. I am so proud of her and am her biggest cheerleader. Rosie and her will be moving into their own place next week and they are both SO happy. The best part is that it is about 2 miles from my house, as the weather gets a bit warmer we will be able to meet at the park in the middle! Can't wait.
I haven't seen many blog updates, but I hope everyone is doing well!

I am alive

If you have stopped by in the last week or 2 you may have noticed my blog was blocked. Sadly, an old friend (who is now an ex-friend) was reading and making some 'unnecessary' comments. I think I have solved the problem.
Anyways, a lot is new with me. I am slowly coming to truths with the scale. I have been struggling trying to get back down in the low 120s and it's been torture. Between working out and calorie counting, I have nothing to show. So I am focused on my exercise. It seems to be what I can stick with. My eating is not out of control, but could be better. I figure if I focus on the exercise I will at least be making up for my nibbles and bites. Overall I am satisfied with the way I look. Sure I wish my stomach was flat, but it's getting better.
Work has been crazy since I have been back from Hawaii. We came home to 38 people laid off...fortunately Derek and I were still employed. I hate it though, the tension between people is like walking on eggshells. My best friend was laid off, I know that she will find something though. Hopefully things start to get busy again and we can bring back a few of the people.
Derek is in school 3-4 nights per week now. It gives me plenty of time to get stuff done around the house and jump on the treadmill as I please. So far I have finished off one of the guest bedrooms and this week I am tackling the walk-in closet! I can't wait to have some organization.
My sister announced to me last week that she was leaving her husband. Although I knew that it might come to this eventually, it took me for surprise and I have done a lot of praying for her and Rosie. Rosie is growing so much lately. We are taking her to Florida on Friday for 10 days and I can't wait. I will have to get some pictures posted when I get back.
One final thought...actually this is the thought that is on my mind 24 hours a day lately. Derek and I finally saw a fertility specialist. We are not trying yet, but there are some issues due to his diabetes that we knew might 'hinder' pregnancy. We were given some hope that with IVF or IUI we might conceive some day. We are thinking of TTC sometime next August. I can't read enough about it though. I am scared and excited to begin the process. I guess for now I just need to focus on keeping us as healthy as possible.

Leg Cramps

I've been hitting the treadmill and Wii lately. I really want to get back to working out with my PT, but we are trying to figure out what we can and can't afford right now. For now, hiring my PT is on hold...hopefully by March I can be back to those awesome workouts! Anyways, in the mean time I have been trying to hit the treadmill or Wii Fit for a workout each day. I decided last Wednesday to try out the running program on the Wii...I got the WORST leg cramps. I'm talking the kind that you wake up with your muscles tensing...it was unbearable, and the worst part is that they lasted until this morning. I am finally feeling up for running after 4 days of recovery. I can't keep this up!

And the scale said...

-2 lbs!!! I have been taking each day on it's own...tracking everything that goes in my mouth, and trying to get in a minumum of 30 minutes excercise each day. Hopefully I see results again this week!
